Individual Therapy

Voice Hands Heart - Service - Body - Individual TherapyEvery day I walk into my office, I have the honor of working with incredible people as they learn, heal, and grow. I specialize in helping individuals of all ages overcome challenges so they can live vibrant, healthy lives. In the context of individual therapy, I work inclusively with adults of all identities, genders, cultures, and life experiences.

Early in my career I became inspired by the unique ways people heal from even the most challenging circumstances. My background in trauma recovery has allowed me to become well versed in issues related to anxiety, depression, self-image, family conflict, and grief and loss.  In our work together we don’t just talk about difficult experiences though. I believe a counseling process is all about helping you understand who you are as a person, what lights you up and  where you want to go next. Toward that goal, our work can include exploring identity, uncovering values, and talking through big topics like vocation, relationships, spirituality, culture, gender and sexuality.

My intention is to co-create a safe space with you where you can show up as YOU, bring everything you’ve got, surrounded by acceptance and support. I love what I do because I have seen the therapy process change lives. And I learn from every incredible person I meet.

So whether you’re saying “Yes Please!” or don’t quite know what you need, let’s connect! I’d love to work with you. And if I can’t be of help, I’m confident I can steer you in the right direction. For more information on Individual Therapy, contact us or call (720) 248-8572.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Prior to scheduling an initial session, we always invite prospective clients to participate in a phone consultation with us. While this may sound like a formal meeting, it’s really not. We typically take about 15-20 minutes to talk with you about where you are in your life, the current challenges you are experiencing, and what you’re hoping to gain from your process with us. We answer any questions you may have and share more in depth information about what you can expect from us in our practice. We also go over practical pieces of information like our cancellation policy and our office location. Our hope is that when you complete a phone consultation, uncertainty will be replaced with confidence in the process you are beginning with us.
Counseling is an interactive process that allows you to talk through your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences. Research efforts have confirmed that counseling supports mental health, brain development, success at work, and relationships. Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes in duration and include identifying present challenges, processing a particular theme or topic of your choice, and creating gradual closure at the end of the session.
It’s common for individuals to avoid counseling because there are many myths about it in popular culture that steer people away. If you know a friend or family member who may be interested in getting started, the most helpful step can be to offer education and resources. Throughout our site, we offer lots of education about what the counseling process is like and how it can help. Sometimes when someone is struggling greatly, they need help setting up appointments or going to initial appointments to break the ice. We welcome this at Voice Hands Heart and want to do anything we can to answer questions and offer support. Recognizing that we may not be the right fit for everyone, we also maintain a list of referrals of trusted professionals who can attend to clients who are searching for something different than what we offer.
