Therapeutic coaching is a process where we intentionally explore everything that makes you who you are. Together we consider where you have been, where you are now, and where you are going. Whether you’re experiencing a major life transition, coping with life after loss, navigating relationships, or just desiring to know more about yourself, a coaching process is a meaningful way to reconnect with what matters most to you.
Personal coaching is an educational skill based modality. Sessions are focused on teaching you transferable skills you can utilize in all settings. Whether navigating challenges in your career, working through conflict with your spouse, or learning how to cope with stress, personal coaching can help.
Personal coaching has a very practical element and emphasizes exploration of the present moment rather than deep exploration of past experiences. Directed and goal driven, coaching is designed to help you live a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
Areas of Emphasis:
♦ Developing self-confidence in a world of comparison
♦ Living a life that matches your values
♦ Exploring where you have been in your journey and what has been left unresolved
♦ Understanding your personal identity
♦ Carving new paths in career and home life
♦ Finding your voice
♦ Releasing fear and following your dreams
What’s the difference between counseling and coaching?
At Voice Hands Heart, we offer counseling and coaching services. While these services are similar in many ways, there are some distinctions. A primary distinction is that a counseling process tends to be more non-directive whereas a coaching process tends to be more directive. Counseling processes are really beneficial for individuals who would like to nurture their mental health and navigate experiences such as depression, anxiety, relational conflicts, and challenging habits. A coaching process is helpful for individuals who feel somewhat grounded in their life but are looking for a sense of direction or a connection to their values. Coaching typically includes a greater amount of exercises and “homework” assignments outside of session in order to facilitate productive discussion in session. Counseling is most beneficial when sessions occur on an ongoing or fairly regular basis. Coaching can be more periodic, providing structure and support when engaging important crossroads.
How often do you recommend coaching sessions?
At Voice Hands Heart, we recommend coaching sessions 1-2 times per month. We also offer coaching in our integrative healing intensives. This is brief coaching focused on helping you reset, realign and refresh.
